Greeks a viewable, valuable part of community

Students waste countless amounts of paper

The one school necessity used more than any of the aforementioned supplies is paper. As a current employee at Andersen Library, I can vouch for the fact that paper is a prime necessity for the college student. However, this need is bordering on dependency.

I agreed with him when he suggested that election days should be national holidays. I bit my tongue when he urged the Whitewater bars to go smoke-free. But this time, Jake Zinsli has gone too far. Upon reading his opinion in the March 12 edition of the Royal Purple entitled, "It's just a game… not life and death," I was saddened and a bit outraged.

Studying abroad important, overlooked

The absence of articles regarding the significance of studying abroad is disappointing. When I graduated from college I moved to Japan to teach. My time there taught me that if we take educational risks our lives can be enriched beyond measure. I also found that we as Americans generally know little of what's going beyond our borders.

Greeks receive much deserved representation

I am writing to commend the work of Regina Shirkey in her article "Fraternities, sororities provide social structure for shy students." Not only was her article insightful and well written, but she also investigated a subject that the Royal Purple has appeared to avoid in the past.
