The Warhawk wheelchair basketball team suffered just its second loss of the season Saturday, falling once again to the University of Illinois, 55-46.

The loss to the Fighting Illini marked the first time UW-Whitewater has lost twice in a season to one team since the 2005-06 season. The last team to defeat UW-Whitewater at least twice in a season was the University of Texas-Arlington Movin' Mavs, who defeated the Warhawks three times in 2005-06, including a heartbreaking 55-53 loss in the national championship game.

The loss to the Fighting Illini gave the 'Hawks a 3-1 record for the weekend as the team earned wins over the University of Illinois Lady Fighting Illini, the University of Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs and the University of Edinboro Fighting Scots.

Head Coach Tracy Chynoweth said his team played well but the Fighting Illini just seemed to have UW-Whitewater figured out.

"I feel like we are a very good team that got beat by a very good team," Chynoweth said. "We have to find a way to play to our potential and take advantage of all of our weapons. Illinois has the upper hand on us, and we have to find a way to address some issues before the tournament."

Sophomore Joe Chambers carried the 'Hawks, with three double-doubles in the team's three victories. Chambers scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss to Illinois. Additionally, Chambers combined for 29 points and 20 rebounds in the wins over the Mustangs and the Fighting Scots.

Chambers said the team is putting the loss to Fighting Illini behind them and focusing on the remaining games on its schedule.

"I think that we are playing well,"?Chambers said. "We just need to continue to work hard and remember why we are all here. Our team has one goal and that is winning the championship. We will do whatever it takes to accomplish it."

The Warhawks, 21-2 on the season, will next be in action Friday and Saturday, when the team travels to Dallas.
