The Warhawk women's basketball team fell to UW-Stevens Point, 64-62, Saturday night, ending its seven-game winning streak.
The Warhawks, ranked No. 3 in the country in the latest D3Hoops.com poll, were unable to convert a last second lay-up to tie the game, handing the team only its second loss this season.
Junior center Tiffany Morton led the 'Hawks, posting a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds. Fellow junior Rachel Woolever also added 11 points for UW-Whitewater.
The loss dropped UW-Whitewater back into a tie for first place in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with UW-Eau Claire. The Blugolds are the only other team besides UW-Stevens Point to have beaten the Warhawks.
The 'Hawks travel to UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday and return to Whitewater to host UW-River Falls Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Kachel Gymnasium.
