I know you were a transfer this year coming to Whitewater. What led to that decision?

I was out in California, far away from home, and my father had been going through some illness, so I felt it would be best for me to be close to home. I knew [Head Coach] Pat [Miller], I was familiar with the personnel here, and it's a good school, so Whitewater was my choice.

The decision seems to have fit you really well. Going back to a couple games ago against UW-Stout, you had a career-high in points scored, including shooting 7-of-8 from the 3-point line. Explain what's been able to help you be so comfortable here?

I think my teammates and the coaches. They accepted me. They do a great job of finding me and looking for me. I think it's just a collective team effort. Sometimes I might stand out more than others, but it's all a team effort.

Coming in here in September and October and getting ready for the season, what was it like walking in to practice with guys like Rob Perry and some of the guys that had been here before?

I was excited from the start. I knew Rob from my childhood. He's an excellent ballplayer. Then you've got Myles McKay, who transferred from UW-Milwaukee. [Also], there was a lot of good returning players like Kori Vernon, who won a state championship in high school, so there was a lot of talent. I was just really excited to get to work with them.

Talking about growing up, I know you went to Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, one of the most successful programs in the state. Talk about what it was like playing there, and especially in the City Conference, where it's really competitive.

Playing at Milwaukee King, there were a lot of talented players. There was a lot of Division I ballplayers. Sometimes I think practice was harder than the games. You know, we had [Associated Press] Player of the Year Dupree Fletcher, an Ohio State recruit. Right now, you have Troy Cotton, who's at UW-Green Bay, and Leneal Harris, who got a scholarship to UW-Milwaukee, so there was a lot of talent. Coach Jim Gosz, he's a great coach. We were just able to put all that talent together and win a couple state championships.
