UW-Whitewater lost two students in unrelated incidents within two weeks of each other. Sophomore Jesse Gamache died on Jan. 9 and senior Andrew Ullrich died last Wednesday.

The study showed the Young Auditorium brings in $2.1 million in sales to the local economy, supplies 26 jobs and provides $964,000 in labor income.

Rep. Kim Hixson, D-Whitewater, and former Rep. Debi Towns, R-Janesville, are once again running for the 43rd Wisconsin State Assembly district seat. Both candidates ran for a seat in the Assembly in the 2006 election. Hixson won by only nine votes.
