I am currently at 4-6 and in 8th place out of 12 teams in one league. In this league the top six teams make the playoffs with no consolation bracket. Although 4-6 is a horrible record I still have a realistic shot of making the playoffs and once I'm in, anything can happen. I guess what the moral of this story is that a lot can happen with a fantasy team even at this point.
So if your team appears to be out, don't give up and keep setting your lineups because you never know. At worst you can spoil one of your friends' playoff chances which we all know is bitter sweet. Here are the week 11 picks:
Studs:
Tony Romo QB, Dallas Cowboys: Romo had a huge game last week against the Giants and looks to repeat this week against another division rival. He has had seven TD passes the past two weeks and will continue the trend this week.
Fearless Forecast: 22-30, 293 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT
Santonio Holmes WR, Pittsburgh Steelers: Holmes has been very hot/cold this season proving at some points that he is a very good wide out but lacks consistency. Holmes faces a weak Jets team this week that has had trouble on defense all season long. I see the Steelers airing it out this week with the Steelers offensive players putting up very solid numbers.
Fearless Forecast: 5 catches, 107 yards, 2 TD
Brian Westbrook RB, Philadelphia Eagles: Westbrook does it all. Plain and simple⦠He catches balls and he runs. People in a point per reception league love this guy. This week he faces the Dolphins who are winless. He is almost always a definite start in all leagues.
Fearless Forecast: 18 rushes, 95 yards, 1 TD; 7 catches, 75 yards, 1 TD
Jeremy Shockey TE, New York Giants: Shockey tore it up last week. This week he faces the Lions who in my opinion are on their way back to Earth. Shockey is the second if not first option for Eli Manning and will have a very solid week.
Fearless Forecast: 8 catches, 96 yards, 1 TD
Minnesota Vikings Defense: Anyone who didn't fall asleep watching the Bears and Raiders game last week saw, well, not much. The Raiders don't score points and the Vikings will benefit this week on defense.
Fearless Forecast: 4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 3 INT, 13 points allowed
Duds:
Derek Anderson QB, Cleveland Browns: Anderson put up a very impressive performance last week in a loss to Pittsburgh. This week he goes to Baltimore to face the Ravens. He has been very good lately about not throwing interceptions or fumbling the ball. This week I see him struggling however in a letdown game.
Fearless Forecast: 15-30, 210 yards, 2 TD, 4 INT
Jerricho Cotchery WR, New York Jets: The Jets are trying their best for the 1st overall pick in the draft next year. I am eagerly anticipating their showdown with the Dolphins to see who wants to win less. Cotchery is very talented but being on such a bad team really hurts his stats. The Steelers will keep him quiet this week.
Fearless Forecast: 6 catches, 58 yards, 0 TD
Marshawn Lynch RB, Buffalo Bills: Lynch has been very solid the past few weeks but this week he faces the Patriots. That's all I have to say about that.
Fearless Forecast: 20 rushes, 40 yards, 0 TD; 2 catches, 12 yards, 0 TD
Antonio Gates TE, San Diego Chargers: Gates averages 75 yards a game receiving and is considered to be the best TE in the NFL. He has been rather mediocre lately though and I expect the same out of him this week in Jacksonville.
Fearless Forecast: 4 catches, 51 yards, 1 TD
Buffalo Bills Defense: They play the Patriots this week.
Fearless Forecast: 1 sack, 0 fumble recoveries, 1 INT, 35 points allowed
Sleepers:
Jeff Garcia QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Garcia has played pretty poorly the past few weeks. I see him having a big game this week against the Falcons though. They have had a mess of a year and the Bucs are still trying to stay in the NFC South race.
Fearless Forecast: 20-30, 250 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
Andre Johnson WR, Houston Texans: Andre is back this week after being out since week 2. He was very productive the first two weeks and look for him to be a hug factor for the Texans once he is healthy. If someone dropped him after he got hurt and he is available, pick him up immediately.
Fearless Forecast: 6 catches, 118 yards, 1 TD
Willis McGahee RB, Baltimore Ravens: The Browns tend to give up big numbers. I can see the Ravens giving McGahee the ball quite a bit this week. He has the potential to have a nice week this week.
Fearless Forecast: 16 rushes, 85 yards, 1 TD; 3 catches, 21 yards, 0 TD
Alge Crumpler TE, Atlanta Falcons: Crumpler just returned last week from missing several weeks due to injury. I see him putting together a nice week this week because he is one of few options in the Falcons offense.
Fearless Forecast: 6 catches, 89 yards, 1 TD
Oakland Raiders Defense: With Adrian Peterson out the Vikings will struggle on offense and the Raiders defense will benefit. They are a nice pickup if you need a one week plug in on defense.
Fearless Forecast: 3 sacks, 1 fumble recoveries, 2 INT, 17 points allowed
