The children's musical "Flat Stanley" will be performed for the general public in the Irvin L. Young Auditorium tonight at 7 p.m., with two performances during the day for primary school students.
"Flat Stanley" is based on a series of children's books by Jeff Brown. Plans to bring the musical to UW-Whitewater began in May. Shannon Dozoryst worked since September coordinating the show date.
"It's going to be a large scale production as far as kids shows go," Dozoryst said.
The production company "The Road Company" will be performing the show. The eight actors in the show travel across the U.S. essentially carrying the show with them.
"The company brings all their things the day of the show," Young Auditorium Technical Director David Nees said.
Before the 7 p.m. show there will be a dinner at 5:30 p.m. serving kids food like corn dogs, sloppy Joes, and macaroni and cheese. Tickets for the pre-show dinner are $9 for adults and $7 for kids. Tickets for the show range from $16, $14 and $12.
