A special veteran's reception will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 1-2 p.m. at the Center of the Arts Atrium. All student, faculty and staff veterans and individuals with loved ones who are currently serving are invited to attend.
The event, a joint operation between the Committee of Veteran's Affairs and UW-Whitewater Student Veteran's Club, will be a chance for veteran's to come together and socialize about their experiences.
There will also be a chance for them to learn about veteran resources.
Elizabeth Watson, Chair of the Committee on Veteran's Affairs, said receptions in previous years focused a lot around setting up booths with veteran resources. This year they wanted to focus on simply recognizing veterans.
"There will be resources available," Watson said. "But we wanted this to really be an opportunity to honor the veterans and recognize their service."
