Campus construction continues

The rebuilding of the University Center in the central part of the campus is among many projects taking shape costing $20.2 million.
Another major component of the campus building project is the construction of a new College of Business and Economics at a cost of $41 million.
In order to provide more living options for students, a new $28 million residence hall will be constructed to replace Sayles and White halls.
The construction is scheduled to take place in two phases. The first phase will be the construction of a new residence hall south of White Hall. The second phase will be the leveling of White Hall.
Meanwhile, a new multi-purpose athletic complex project costing $7 million is under construction in phases.
The first phase of reconstruction is the replacement of the 400-meter track with nine lanes. The second phase involves reconstruction the women's varsity and practice softball fields.
Carlson Hall will undergo extensive renovation that will include the replacement of existing mechanical and building systems, new interior finishes and other remodeling at a cost of $10 million.
