Black Friday, whether looked at as a joyous day of deals and steals, or a headache wrapped in a bow, has been a part of the American lifestyle since the late 1960s. The famous day-after-Thanksgiving starts the holiday shopping season with a bang, and on occasion, an injury or two.
Thanksgiving is synonymous with family, football and a delicious meal of various foods. It is also the holiday where many people put their diets on the backburner in favor of calorie-laden foods like mashed potatoes, stuffing, cream corn and pumpkin pie. "There's only a couple day in the year you get to go all out," freshmen Jack Rivera said.
