Now that spring has finally arrived, it has become increasingly obvious this campus is an eyesore. To be fair, the nonstop construction on campus by the new business building, Hyland Hall, and the parking lot near Carlson Hall, has contributed greatly to this situation. But with a little extra effort and a newly finalized sustainability garden, UW-Whitewater will be on the right track.
Not often are you afforded the opportunity to compare UW-Whitewater's sports to a typical Division I athletic program, but there's one similarity between the two: the preferential treatment some athletes receive.
It's been more than two weeks since members of the Faithful School of Evangelicalism came to spread their beliefs in Whitewater, and something has been nagging me ever since. Maybe we, as a campus, are making too big of a deal about it, but I feel it's not the issue disputed but the way it was handled that caused such an uproar.
