For the previous nine semesters, the college has brought in a handful of speakers, including Pulitzer Prize winners, Nobel Peace Prize winners and best-selling authors.
The only thing more satisfying in life than bearing witness to one's success is to watch them ultimately crash and burn. That's precisely why we have "American Idol," the only current TV show that receives equal attention on both sides of the talent fence. It's far more entertaining to see contestants verbally stoned by rapid-firing judges than it is to share in the fairytale ending of the champion.
It seems that everything is going wireless these days. We have tools like wireless phones, laptops, and the Internet that let us stay connected just about anywhere, but how much wireless freedom do we have at UW-Whitewater?
It has been an unsettled debate for years: what's better for a night of drinking beer or liquor? Some people might think the side effects are the same, but they would be wrong. Beer is simply a far better way to spend the evening than liquor.
