Budget clears way for financial aid

A new state budget was finalized Tuesday by the legislature, paving the way towards relief for more than 6,000 students in the UW System who are still without financial aid, including 178 at UW-Whitewater. One week after the Assembly rejected a $58 billion proposal by Gov. Jim Doyle, the legislature finally agreed upon a two-year, $57.2 billion budget.

City dedicates first roundabout

A new roundabout intersection has been completed on the eastside of Whitewater and was opened with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The new intersection is one of a few new additions to the eastside.

City considers new pedestrian safety measures at crosswalks

The Whitewater Common Council agreed last week to improve pedestrian crosswalks on Main Street at Whiton and Cottage across from the UW-Whitewater campus and by the Mulberry Glen retirement center across from Wal-Mart.
