Advertising Sales Representative: Generate and/or follow up on advertising leads ~ Service Advertising Accounts, including: Send media kits and follow up ~ Complete contracts and other paperwork and provide copies to Business and Accounting Managers ~ Communicate with clients regarding ad copy, deadlines, special issues & promotions ~ Meet all deadlines for newspaper production ~ Communicate with design personnel on client requests for ad design and changes ~ Communicate regularly with Business Manager regarding questions, problems, and progress ~ Attend mandatory bi-weekly meetings ~ Must be a full or part-time student enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater ~ Commission based salary

Classified Sales Representative: Generate and/or follow up on advertising leads for classifieds section of the newspaper ~ Service classifieds accounts ~ Complete paperwork and provide copies to Business and Accounting Managers ~ Communicate with clients regarding ad copy, deadlines, special issues & promotions ~ Meet all deadlines for newspaper production ~ Communicate regularly with Business Manager regarding questions, problems, and progress ~ Attend mandatory bi-weekly meetings ~ Must be a good proofreader~ Must be a full or part-time student enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater ~ paid salary every 2 weeks

Multimedia Coordinator: The Multimedia Coordinator will conceptualize and develop compelling multimedia projects for the official website of the Royal Purple. (royalpurplenews.com) Projects will include but are not limited to video projects and Flash presentations. The ideal candidate will engage in all creative and technical aspects of the development process including graphic design, content creation, shooting and editing.Attend mandatory bi-weekly meetings ~ Must be a full or part-time student enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater ~ Paid salary every 2 weeks

Staff Writer: As a writer for the Royal Purple, you will have the opportunity to write for any of the five sections of our newspaper: News, Opinion, Lifestyle, Arts & Entertainment, and Sports. Staff writers cover a broad spectrum of stories, such as current events, breaking news, commentaries, reviews, profiles, and sports.

Freelance Photographer: Working with the photo editors, our freelance photographers assist in reporting the news visually. You will get the opportunity to build your portfolio by shooting headshots, concerts, plays, sporting events, etc.

Cartoonists: We give cartoonists the opportunity to draw weekly comic strips and enhance articles with editorial cartoons.
