*The Royal Purple is currently looking to hire a Graphic Designer. If you are interested in this paid position, please pick up an application in the Royal Purple office in UC 66.

Graphic Designer: This position requires a student with a strong work ethic and desire to create and design graphics for the paper each week. The job tasks would include designing specific graphics requested by section editors, contributing creative ideas to go along with certain stories and attending a mandatory weekly meeting. At least 7-10 hours per week~ Must be a full or part-time student enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater ~ Paid salary every two weeks.

The Royal Purple is always looking to fill the following unpaid positions:

Staff Writer: As a writer for the Royal Purple, you will have the opportunity to write for any of the five sections of our newspaper: News, Opinion, Lifestyle, Arts & Entertainment, and Sports. Staff writers cover a broad spectrum of stories, such as current events, breaking news, commentaries, reviews, profiles, and sports.

Freelance Photographer: Working with the photo editors, our freelance photographers assist in reporting the news visually. You will get the opportunity to build your portfolio by shooting headshots, concerts, plays, sporting events, etc.

Freelance Videographer: Working with the Editor of Online Multimedia, our freelance videographers assist in reporting the news visually. You will get the opportunity to build your portfolio by shooting footage of concerts, plays, sporting events, meetings, etc.

Cartoonists: We give cartoonists the opportunity to draw weekly comic strips and enhance articles with editorial cartoons.
